Kentucky Appalachia Outdoor Painters
Tuesday, Oct. 5 paint-out at Cave Run Lake from 9a-Noon (Backup rain date is Oct. 12)
Garnet Lemaster invites Kentucky Appalachia Outdoor Painters to paint at the Stony Cove Picnic Area and Beach at Cave Run Lake southwest of Morehead. Note that there are two beaches at Cave Run.
This beach is on Rt. 826. If you're coming from the west on U.S. 60 and then connecting with Rt. 826, just continue to the lake and the beach on 826. If you see the dam and Corps of Engineers office, you went too far.
If you're coming via I-64, you'll exit south on Rt. 801. You will pass Pop's BBQ where we're having lunch and continue a few miles until you reach Rt. 826. Turn right and go south along the lake. You will see the Corps of Engineers building and then the dam. The parking lot and painting spot is just ahead to your left.
