A rain delay could not spoil our plein air paint out at Harkness Edwards Vineyards where I continued to work in pastel.

We moved indoors to hear the family history of this beautiful Winchester, Kentucky, farm and vineyards. Nini Edwards provided local cheeses and a sample of their wines while I sipped the famous local soft drink, Ale 8, bottled in Winchester for more than eight decades.

Plein air painting together is a great way to learn from others and to celebrate the different skill levels of individuals. This is not a competition; all you need to consider is whether you are progressing.

The best part is new friends, socializing, and learning about the spots where we paint. This is the 61st episode in my journey as an artist. After near death from a serious illness in 2017, painting is my way of celebrating the beauty of life and second chances. I use the videos to track my progress and (I hope) inspire you.
